More Updates coming soon!
Hey everyone. Sorry I have not updated the site in a few weeks. I have been busy with playing shows and all sorts of other fun stuff to do with US visa applications. I will be updating the site very soon and Rubem Dantas has been very busy lately and will be giving me an interview for the site soon.
Coming soon!! Interview with Rubem Dantas
I have recently confirmed an interview with Rubem Dantas, the man who introduced the cajon to flamenco music 30 years ago. We very happy to bring this to cajonpercussion.com at such an early stage of the website. Be sure to check back and sign up to our mailing list to find out when we will be posting the interview.
Rubems manager has also informed me that it is 30 years this year that Rubem indeed brought the Peruvian Box drum to flamenco. We will keep you up to date with any events or projects that will mark this great date in cajon history.

CAJÓN fu
Young CAJÓN talent
As I explore the web trying to find new and exciting cajon players, I am finding increasing numbers of videos posted by young people. It is great that the cajon is gaining in popularity with the young all across the world now. What is also great is; some of the talent out there is quite exceptional. Check out some of their videos. Watch out for this kids fall at the start too....
My attention has recently been drawn to a VSTi Instrument called "Cajon Fu". Compatible with any VST host music recording platform like Cubase, Nuendo, FL Studio, it is basically a plug-in that allows you to program a cajon part using pre-recorded samples. This VSTi uses standard drum mapping. Use C3-E3 (two octaves below middle C) to play rhythms live. The plug-in is free and available from www.mildonstudios.com although when I click on the download link, it does not seem to work so I have no idea weather this is a good unit or not as yet. I will let you all know as soon as I find out though. For now I would recomend sticking to the real thing. :)
