Mario Cortes
Inspired by sanding wood on the balcony of his house one day and his son asking him to build the worlds greatest box drum. Mario Cortese began production of high quality cajons in 1990. Now his company employs a staff of 10 and makes custom models for Giovanni Hidalgo, Antonio Carmona as well as building a custom model for LP known as the "LP Mario Cortes Cajon"

German percussion instrument makers with over 25 years experience.
Sclagwerk are great innovators of the cajon and their booster cajon drum set has given percussionists a great alternative sound to the cajon/drum set hybrid concept.
Cajon de gregorio
DG Percussion was established in 2002, by Paolo De Gregorio, drummer with Spanish and Italian parents.
After making a home made instrument for a child, everything fell into place, so he decided to start a production with a registered company, and DG Percussion was born.
The small workshop quickly turned into a small factory, and within three years, DG Percussion moved to a big warehouse, equipped with industrial machinery, building up to 300 cajons per month.
Kotz Tone cajon

Oliver Böttger builds one off unique cajons in Germany. He has been operational since march of 2008 and also runs a small cajon/percussion outlet in Kiel, Germany where he stocks many great models.
Oliver has also customized a new corner feature, what he calls his "ears". Meinl recently bought the patent and make there own version.
As well as all this, in 2008 Oliver and two teachers organized the first cajon festival in Hamburg which show cased many quality makes.
valter percussion
Valter Percussion was founded by musician and percussion designer/builder Valter Kinbom back in 1997. Valter and started to build instruments in his parents garage on Ekerö, Stockholm, Sweden.
Valter Percussion products are the current manifestation of over 10 years in the business of making cajones and other percussion instruments from the viewpoint of a musician. The love for great rhythm and the fun of discovering exciting sounds has been cycled back into wonderful instruments.

rock box
The Australian made Rockbox™ Is a great solid no nonsense cajon. Every Rockbox is hand made by Steve Ramsey using hand picked timbers.
Endorsers of Rockbox include John Butler and Kenny Dale Johnson.
Rockbox also make stompboards. A great acoustic kick sound emulator which is simply make from a small wooden box with a Piezo pickup inside. The player simply stomps on the box to create a great punchy kick sound.

With a background as a percussionist and coming from 3 generations of cabinet makers, Alexis Castañeda Founded A Tempo percussion in 1997. A tempo percussion is a Peruvian company who build traditional Peruvian cajons as well as a range of other innovative box drums.
